As I started developing my work and research behind my trailer I needed to start thinking of what characters I wanted to use. so first of all I started looking at the conventions of a killer.
Conventions of a killer:
- Dressed in dark colours
- Lighting usually is highlighted by lighting
- Mysterious
- Unexpected
Thinking of killers...

I had started to look for killers but, found that the choices I had picked wouldn't be a good choice as they didn't have conventional aspects that would fit my character.

Here where the final choices:

A female killer subverts the conventions of a slasher film. Rather than using the cliche of a returning, omnipotent masked killer, the use of a small female implies levels of power that are new to audiences. This new subversion evokes horror as it is the last thing that audiences expect, satisfying both the horror conventions of the unexpected and the excitement/adrenaline that derives from solving the identity of the killer at the conclusion of the film.
The victim's simplistic expressions can lead to a sense of mystery in regards to his motives; his unknown background can lead to a sense of vengeance within the audience, who will build their own back story. Upon this, the victim's physical build is one of the typical jock, a victim often found in the slasher genre. The jock tradition is one of bullying and being anything but the victim; thus, his death will satisfy audiences based upon vengeance. On the contrary, simplistic mannerisms can be seen to represent the 'everyday man' that can appeal to a broad demographic. This is because his simplicity can allow for the application of a personal friend to the victim's identity, evoking empathy in the mind of the viewer.
